Assistant Professor, Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery

Renaldo Blocker, Ph.D., is an associate consultant and an assistant professor in the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery and Department of Health Sciences Research in Rochester, MN. Dr. Blocker served as the associate scientific director of the Mayo Clinic’s Emergency Department Clinical Engineering Laboratory (ED-CEL) and is the lead for the Novel Technologies component of the Joy Program at Mayo Clinic.

His research focuses on cognitive workload, interruptions, teamwork, communication, burnout and resilience engineering within complex health care systems. Dr. Blocker is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and an adjunct professor in the Polytechnic School in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.
