Mark Foley

Director of Translational Informatics, Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery

Mark K. Foley is the director of Translational Informatics at Mayo Clinic and administrator for the Office of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this role, he provides leadership for the Office of Artificial Intelligence and the Informatics and Knowledge Management program, currently focusing on infrastructure needs and processes to get AI into clinical use.

Mr. Foley has an extensive background in IT with over 25 years of experience in research, building and implementing the electronic medical record (EMR) and departmental IT systems such as radiology, laboratory medicine, cardiology, and GI. He has led teams building enterprise data repositories and applications on top of the data repository for population health, real-time alerting algorithms, and innovative patient care tools.

Mr. Foley has master’s degrees in biochemistry and theological studies and undergraduate degrees in chemistry, biology, and computer science.
