John Donvan

Moderator, Intelligence Squared Debates U.S.

John Donvan is the host of Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the level of public discourse in the United States by encouraging recognition that opposing viewpoints have intellectually respectable views. He has moderated IQ2US debates since 2008. An author, speaker and journalist, John has reported for ABC, CNN and PBS, including multi-year postings in Moscow, London, Jerusalem, and Amman, and a term as chief White House correspondent for ABC News. His 2016 book, In a Different Key: The Story of Autism, was a New York Times bestseller, a Wall Street Journal Top Ten Nonfiction Book of the Year, and a Pulitzer Prize finalist. John is a four-time Emmy Award winner and was a National Magazine Award finalist in 2010.

Session 6: A Health Care Debate Moderated by Intelligence Squared

Mayo Civic Center, 2nd Floor, Grand Ballroom
America's premier debate series, Intelligence Squared U.S., will take the main stage at Transform to debate the motion "The U.S. Health Care System is Terminally Broken." The Transform audience will vote to declare a winner of the debate, which will be streamed online and recorded live for national television and radio broadcast. Intelligence Squared U.S. is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded to restore critical thinking, facts, reason, and civility to American public discourse.
