Gwen Conner is a creative, catalyst leader with 20-plus years of experience powering teams to create new approaches to help improve health and, ultimately, the experience of life. At Providence Health & Services, the third largest not-for-profit health system in the U.S., Conner leads the first business accelerator, expanding a 160-year-old brand into a consumer-oriented, digital future. Over the last five years, Conner has built a vibrant grassroots innovation platform that leverages collective problem solving skills of the organization to address corporate challenges and has resulted in a host of transformative pilots. A speaker series brings in leaders from outside of health care to create targeted moments to reinforce caregivers’ commitment to innovation. And in 2015, Conner pioneered the Kitty Powell Innovation Fellowship program, which brings together a cross-functional network of caregivers to test solutions for health care’s most challenging problems, integrate early stage technologies, and develop external relationships. This program allowed Providence to touch nearly 1,500 Oregonians with new care models, collaborate with over 15 new community organizations and emerging technology companies, and achieve major gains in talent development. A self-described “rabble-rouser,” Conner is passionately open to experience and ready to find inspired approaches to living a healthy, fulfilled life.
