Chance Marostica is a senior at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University studying Biological Sciences, with a minor in economics. In 2017, he co-founded REACT (Refugee Education and Clinic Team), a student-led collaboration between ASU and Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Chance currently serves as a student co-executive. In this capacity, he helps direct business development for the organization, manages its legal incorporation, and fosters strategic partnerships with the community. Ultimately, REACT seeks to address the health disparities of the refugee community in Maricopa County through engagement, education, and patient care.
Chance has also worked as a research associate studying the applications of cardiac-imaging modalities under the mentorship of Dr. Farouk Mookadam with the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic Phoenix. He is currently completing his thesis on sustainable business practices for non-profit organizations. After graduation, he plans to continue his work with REACT before attending medical school.
