Barbara Barry, Ph.D. is the Design Strategist for the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation and an Assistant Professor in the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. She is a research scientist and designer who uses interdisciplinary methods to drive innovation in health care and education. Her experience spans projects in industry, public, and humanitarian sectors.
Barry has led Mayo Clinic’s Student Health and Wellbeing program, and is currently working with the Mayo Clinic’s Center for Regenerative Medicine on innovative care models for practice integration.
Prior to joining Mayo, Barry led a three-year, five-country collaboration with the United Nations to improve refugee education using open source technologies and participatory design. She has also developed digital mental health applications to address anxiety and depression in adolescents and young adults and conducted fieldwork to understand community health needs during humanitarian response.
